KCC Mixed Netball – Rules

Our league is a social mixed netball competition played using outdoor netball rules, indoors at the Kumeu Community Hall. The focus of our league is fun, fairness, and community, so please play hard but play fair.

Player Eligibility

• Minimum player age is 14 years old.
• All players must be registered to a team.
• To be eligible to play in Semi Finals or Finals, a player must have played at least 3 games during the season.

Team Format

• Teams are mixed teams.
• A maximum of 3 males are allowed on the court at any time.
• Males are only permitted in the following positions:
  • GS or GA (only one male shooter on court at a time)
  • WA or C or WD
  • GD or GK (only one male defender in the circle at a time)
• Teams must have a minimum of 5 players to start a game.
• Maximum of 7 players on court.

Game Duration

• Games are 40 minutes total.
• Played as 4 x 10 minute quarters.
• 2 minute halftime.
• The clock runs continuously (no stop time).

Scoring & Points

• Win = 3 points
• Draw = 1 point
• Loss = 0 points
• The ladder is based on total points, then goal differential if teams are tied.

Late Players / Defaults

• If a team cannot field at least 5 players within 5 minutes of the start time, the game is recorded as a default.
• The opposing team is awarded a win (3 points).
• If both teams agree, a social game can still be played.

Contact & Gameplay

• Standard Netball New Zealand outdoor rules apply.
• This is a social league, so excessive physical contact, dangerous play, or abusive language will not be tolerated.
• Umpire decisions are final.

Finals

• Semi Finals: 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3
• Winners play in the Final
• Losers play in a 3rd/4th playoff (optional depending on time)
